What is Vapour Blasting?

How it Works

The Vapour blasting process (aqua blasting) is straightforward. To remove contaminants and prepare the surface of your classic vehicle and machine parts, we use a mix of pure water and abrasive media (Glass beads). All of the glass beads recycle in our Vixen Aquablaster machine, so the entire process is both environmentally friendly and non-toxic.

Our Vixen Aquablaster fires a highly directional pressurised jet of water and media at your parts. Our skilled operators (also fully trained motorcycle mechanics) will ensure your parts are carefully prepared.

What is the finish like?

Vapour blasting is a non-erosive method of restoring aluminium, stainless steel, steel, and other popular metals. Vapour blasting is particularly impressive when cleaning brass and copper components. The process is robust enough to clean titanium and magnesium too.

The Benefits of Vapour Blasting

Time-Saving

Saves you hours as you do not need to completely strip your classic parts, including engines.

Non-Corrosive

Non-aggressive and non-corrosive. Our hi-tech system uses environmentally friendly media.

Residue Free

No abrasive media residue. Your classic parts will be ready for primary and final finishing.

Ready to Go

Can achieve de-burring and parts will be ready for reassembly as soon as you unpack them.

Zero prep required

From engine and gearbox casings to barrels and carbs. Intricate detailing need not be masked.

Marine parts

Aqua blasting can shift any level of corrosion, including heavy weathering from sean and salt.

What do we do?

When we receive your parts, we spend time preparing them. The vapour blasting process will include the removal of bearings and other ‘internals’ if required. In addition, ports and vents will be bunged.

If required, stripped parts will be placed into an industrial hot wash for de-greasing. Only when we are happy that everything is ready will we vapour blast. As with most finishing processes, it is all in the preparation. As owners of classic cars and motorcycles, we understand the importance of getting it right the first time.
